Safety isn’t a checkbox, it’s in our DNA

At Metroscaff, keeping people safe is the most important thing we do. Every job, from a small residential repaint to a large commercial build, gets the same high standard of care.

Our promise to you

We promise that every Metroscaff team member will arrive on site prepared, trained, and committed to working safely. We won't cut corners to save time, and we'll always speak up if something doesn't look right.

We’ve built our culture around ensuring our people know when to stop, assess, and make the right call on safety. Your project, your people, and the public around us all go home safe, that's non-negotiable.

Why we take Health & Safety seriously

Scaffolding is one of the most safety-critical trades on any site. A structure that isn't built right puts workers, residents, and the public at risk. We've built our business on doing things properly, and that starts with a genuine culture of safety, not just a policy document.

We're proud to be SiteWise accredited, which means our health and safety practices are independently assessed and verified. It's our way of showing clients across residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors that we hold ourselves to a high standard every single day.

How we keep every job safe

Pre-start site assessments

Before any scaffold goes up, our team walks the site to identify hazards, check ground conditions, and plan for safe access and loadings. They then send an immediate report to management so that everyone is aware of the risks for every job in live time.

Trained & certified crew

All our scaffolders hold current Site Safe passports and undergo regular training refreshers, including working at height, manual handling, PPE use, and current scaffolding standards. Each crew has a Team Lead who has received rigorous Health & Safety leadership training.

Inspections & tagging

Every scaffold is inspected and tagged before handover, and re-inspected regularly throughout the job by our Scaffold Inspector Craig, especially after adverse weather or any changes to the structure. Any identified hazards are rectified immediately.

Hazard & Risk management

We complete a task analysis and hazard register prior for every job after discussion with our customers, identifying risks before work begins and putting controls in place to eliminate or minimise them. Any learnings from jobs are communicated to the wider team in our weekly team Toolbox meetings.

PPE as standard

Hard hats, hi-vis, safety footwear, and harnesses, where required, are used every time, no exceptions. We supply and maintain all PPE for our team, ensuring that every time they head out on a job, they feel they’re covered and have what they need to complete the job safely.

Open reporting culture

Anyone on our team can raise a safety concern, near miss, or incident without fear. We learn from every report and use it to make our work safer for everyone. Our regular team Toolbox meetings serve as an open forum to discuss any issues raised and to learn from each other.
