Frequently asked questions

  • Pricing depends on the size of your home, the height required, hire duration, and any extras like shrink wrap, edge protection, temporary fencing etc. You can use the Metroscaff Quote Estimator tool for a quick and tailored estimate, or you can call the team for a free site assessment.

  • For a typical residential job, erection takes half a day to a full day depending on complexity. Dismantling is usually quicker, often half a day. Some factors that affect timing include site terrain, the weather, and the size of the house. We'll always give you a clear timeframe at quote stage as each build is different.

  • If the scaffold sits entirely on your property, no consent is required. If it needs to extend over a footpath or road reserve (common in older Auckland suburbs), a temporary traffic management permit is required. Metroscaff can advise on and manage this process for you.

  • WorkSafe NZ regulations require fall protection for any work at height over 1.5 metres. This typically means scaffolding is required for roofing, re-cladding, gutter replacement, and exterior painting on any multi-storey home. Your insurer may also require compliant access for tradespeople working on your property.

  • We generally recommend booking 1–2 weeks ahead for residential jobs, though we can often accommodate shorter notice. During busy periods demand increases, so earlier is always better to secure your preferred start date.
